Why Freelance

Behind MC Dev, it’s me—Manon Costard. I chose to work as a freelancer to stay involved in every dimension of the digital projects I take on. Designing, structuring, developing, refining the user experience, and guiding my clients through their decisions—this global approach is what I love most about my job.

Being an independent developer also means having the freedom to combine technical expertise, strategy, and creativity. I enjoy getting to the heart of a project, clarifying goals, and imagining digital solutions that are effective, sustainable, and meaningful.

My Background

Business School

I lived in the USA for ten years, in Florida and Louisiana. During that time, I completed my studies, earning a Bachelor’s degree and then an MBA. Moving to the US allowed me to pursue both my education and my career as a high-level athlete.

Professional Athlete

As a world champion in water skiing and a member of the French national team for over twenty years, I developed discipline, diligence, and strong analytical skills—qualities I now bring to every digital project.

Passion project

During my athletic career, my first “passion project” came to life: creating the Waterski Pro Tour, an international association bringing together the world’s top water-skiing events into a unified annual circuit. I built the website, databases, leaderboards, and athlete stats—my first real introduction to web development and business-tool design.

Development Studies

After that project, I began receiving requests from clients for digital work. I decided to make things official by earning a Full-Stack Developer Bachelor’s degree before launching my freelance activity.

Today

Now based in Aix-en-Provence, I work with clients in France and internationally, in both French and English, on projects ranging from showcase websites to fully custom applications.
